How to interpret Austria business data

Choose the geographic level that matches the territory

For nationwide Austrian targeting, start with the federal state. Narrower territories can then use political district or statutory city and municipality or locality when those fields appear in the public profile.

Regional classifications

The CSV is separate from the official business register

The CSV contains available public names, categories, addresses, places, postcodes, websites, emails, and telephone numbers. GISA numbers, Firmenbuch numbers, KUR identifiers, ÖNACE codes, trade authorizations, legal form, named management, employee counts, and turnover are not export fields.

GISA excerpt and information

Using business contacts in Austria

Legitimate interests may support processing relevant public business-contact data after a documented GDPR balancing assessment. That basis does not itself authorize marketing email: section 174 TKG generally requires the recipient's prior consent, with only a narrow existing-customer exception when every condition is met.

  • Separate the GDPR basis for processing data from permission to use a particular communications channel.
  • Do not infer consent from a published or purchased address or from a generic-looking inbox such as info@.
  • Use the existing-customer exception only for your own similar products or services, with an objection route at collection and in every message, and no prior objection.
  • Give the required source, purpose, and rights information whenever an address is personal data.
  • Identify the sender, provide a genuine stop address, and cease direct marketing after an objection.
  • Maintain a suppression list so opted-out recipients are not contacted again.

A published telephone number is not consent to an advertising call. Section 174 TKG generally requires prior consent for marketing calls as well.

Separate contacts before a campaign

Separate contacts before a campaignEvidence to establishMarketing-email treatment
Documented consentProvable, informed consent from the specific recipient for the intended purpose.Contact only within that consent; continue to provide an unsubscribe route and maintain suppression records.
Existing-customer exceptionContact obtained during a sale or service, own similar offering, an objection route at collection and in each message, and no prior objection.Use only when every condition in section 174(4) TKG is satisfied together.
Public address without channel permissionA public or purchased business address but no documented consent and no complete existing-customer exception.Do not use it for unsolicited marketing email; select a lawful alternative prospecting route.

How SphereScout prepares this business contact CSV

SphereScout turns public business profiles into a category-and-location export. The process uses the business categories shown in the current page breakdown and keeps official registers, classifications, licences, and inspections separate from the file.

  1. 1

    Match the displayed business categories

SphereScout selects public business profiles matching the categories shown in the current page breakdown. These labels define the file's scope but do not replace official activity codes or authorizations.

  2. 2

    Structure available public details

SphereScout organizes the available business name, category, location, website, email, phone, and public profile fields, then normalizes and deduplicates contact values for export.

  3. 3

Publish coverage and deliver the CSV

SphereScout refreshes public business profiles regularly, publishes the latest collection date and available coverage totals, and delivers the selected records as a structured CSV.

Questions before choosing a list for Austria

Can I buy a business email list for Austria by industry?

Yes. Each industry row shows the current business count, the number of businesses with email, a masked sample and the one-time price when available. Open one file or use the custom builder to combine business categories.

Does every Austrian business profile include an email address?

No. Public email availability varies by industry and business profile. The comparison table shows both the number of businesses with at least one email and their share of all businesses in each file.

Can I narrow a list for Austria by location?

Use the custom builder when territory matters. Depending on the public profile, available fields can include Bundesland, politischer Bezirk or Statutarstadt and Gemeinde or Ort.

Does the Austria CSV include official registration numbers or activity codes?

No. A row represents a public business or location profile. The current export does not include Firmenbuchnummer for an entity entered in the commercial register, ÖNACE code, legal form, register status, employee count or revenue.

Does buying the file authorize marketing in Austria?

Legitimate interests may support processing relevant public business-contact data after a documented GDPR balancing assessment. That basis does not itself authorize marketing email: section 174 TKG generally requires the recipient's prior consent, with only a narrow existing-customer exception when every condition is met.

How do I receive the file after payment?

Once payment is confirmed, SphereScout prepares your CSV and emails a download link to the address entered at checkout.

Is this a subscription? Are updates included?

No. The listed price is a one-time payment for the file described at checkout. It does not include future updates unless explicitly stated. Platform subscriptions are separate.

Do the email counts guarantee delivery?

No. They count addresses present in the data, not successful deliveries or inbox placements. The percentage of businesses with email is not a deliverability rate.
