What is included in the Japan restaurant prospect file?

The CSV combines public profiles for restaurants, cafes, coffee shops, bars, pizza and burger venues, fast food, caterers, event locations, and smaller cuisine groups in Japan. Telephone coverage is far broader than email coverage, so plan the campaign around fields actually present.

What one row represents

Each row represents a publicly listed venue or business profile. At an independent restaurant, the telephone will usually reach the owner or operating team; a chain may route it to a branch, booking desk, or headquarters. The row is not a Corporate Number, JSIC assignment, food permit, or named buyer record.

Venues and available business fields

Cafes and bars are the largest groups in the current Japan file, followed by general restaurants, coffee shops, Italian restaurants, fast food, French restaurants, burger venues, event locations, and pizza businesses.

Nationwide file or a defined Japan territory?

Combine venue format with the available prefecture, municipality, ward, locality, address, and postal-code values. A distributor may select cafes inside a delivery footprint, while an equipment team may group restaurants by technician territory. Corporate Number, JSIC, permit status, revenue, and menu are not filters in this export.

How SphereScout prepares this business contact CSV

SphereScout turns public business profiles into a category-and-location export. The process uses the business categories shown in the current page breakdown and keeps official registers, classifications, licences, and inspections separate from the file.

  1. Match the displayed business categories

SphereScout selects public business profiles matching the categories shown in the current page breakdown. These labels define the file's scope but do not replace official activity codes or authorizations.

  2. Structure available public details

SphereScout organizes the available business name, category, location, website, email, phone, and public profile fields, then normalizes and deduplicates contact values for export.

  3. Publish coverage and deliver the CSV

SphereScout refreshes public business profiles regularly, publishes the latest collection date and available coverage totals, and delivers the selected records as a structured CSV.

Using business contacts in Japan

A published or purchased address is not blanket permission for advertising email. Japan's Act on Regulation of Transmission of Specified Electronic Mail is consent-led and identifies prior request or consent, an existing business relationship, and limited statutory exceptions. Commercial messages must carry the required sender information and must stop after a refusal. Personal information remains subject to the APPI.

Read Japan's official commercial-email law and APPI materials
  • Keep recipient-level evidence of the request, consent, business relationship, or specific exception relied on before sending advertising email.
  • Do not infer consent from a public listing, custom domain, role inbox, or purchased spreadsheet.
  • Display the required advertising designation, sender name and address, and a valid email address for refusal as applicable.
  • Stop sending after the recipient asks not to receive the advertising email and maintain a suppression list.
  • When a contact identifies a person, define and disclose the utilization purpose, limit use to that purpose, and apply appropriate APPI safeguards.
  • Validate that the business, operating company, geography, and offer are relevant before choosing email, telephone, or another channel.
  • The commercial-email rules do not grant permission for indiscriminate calls. Identify the caller and purpose, contact at reasonable times, keep the offer relevant, apply the APPI when a number identifies a person, and suppress further calls after an objection.

Classify the contact route before outreach

Consent or relationship evidenced
EvidenceA retained request or consent record, an existing business relationship, or another documented statutory basis for the intended advertising message.
TreatmentSend within the evidenced scope, include the required sender information and refusal route, and preserve the evidence.
Public business route only
EvidenceThe address or number appears on a business profile, but there is no evidence that the recipient requested or consented to advertising email.
TreatmentUse the profile for qualification. Do not treat publication alone as email consent; obtain permission or use a lawful alternative channel.
Identity or source unresolved
EvidenceThe domain, business, operating company, recipient, source context, or current status cannot be confirmed.
TreatmentValidate or exclude the record before contact. A Corporate Number match does not establish control of a branch inbox or permission to message it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does every Japan restaurant record include an email?
No. The page reports venue profiles, unique emails, and unique telephone numbers separately. Telephone coverage is much broader, so do not size an email campaign from the profile total.
Does the file include sushi, ramen, soba, or izakaya categories?
Do not assume so. Japan's official and commercial restaurant taxonomies contain those segments, but this export is limited to the categories displayed in the live breakdown. Inspect that breakdown before purchase.
Can I target prefectures and municipalities?
Use available address, locality, and postal-code fields to form territories and validate prefecture or municipality during qualification. A normalized prefecture field is not promised for every row.
Does one row equal one Japanese corporation?
Not necessarily. One corporation receives one Corporate Number and may operate several branches, while an individual proprietor receives no Corporate Number. A row represents a public venue or business profile.
Can I send advertising email to every address in the CSV?
No. Publication or purchase alone is not blanket consent. Retain evidence of prior request or consent, an existing business relationship, or another applicable statutory exception, include required sender information, and stop after refusal.
